FLW EverStart - Roosevelt Lake Final Update
FLW EverStart - Roosevelt Lake Final Update
We’re ready to go! Lots of work has been done and many thanks to the volunteer team and sponsors that have worked hard to make this event a success. During the registration meeting (4-6 PM) Feb 20, at the Mazatzal Hotel & Casino, we will have some FLW sponsors and local businesses presenting their products. Don’t forget to check out the Chevy Trucks out in front of the Casino. We have arranged for some anglers to give talks about fishing techniques, John Murray will talk on the Alabama Rig at 4:30, Clifford Pirch will talk on Co-Angler techniques at 4:45, Matt Shura on Crankbait techniques at 5:00, Jimmy Reese on structure techniques at 5:15 and Mark Kile (tentative) on spinner/chatter bait techniques at 5:30. The GCSO will be in the Cholla parking lot and on the water in front of the Cholla dock on 2/20, from 10-2 to perform boat safety inspections. During the registration period, you can get your boat inspected at the casino parking lot. These inspections are optional, a card will be issued showing that you passed and you won’t be inspected during he tournament. The two largest issues found during inspections are a missing throw ring and lack of a working fire extinguisher. We have arranged for music at Cholla prior to each day weigh-in, food, soda & water will be available for a donation. On the final day there will be a live remote radio broadcast by KMOG in Payson. They will be interviewing the FLW finalists, the FLW College participants, FLW staff and spectators. Some of our volunteers and anglers have been invited to be on the KMOG Forum radio show Sat. 2/16, 9-10 AM, to discuss the tournament. You can listen to the show on line via the KMOG, 1420 AM website. There is a lot of talk in Payson about the timing of this tournament. Roosevelt water level is rising, the water is starting to clear, the weather is stable and the water temperature is close to spawning temperatures. All of these factors point towards a great tournament. If you or your family has never seen a FLW tournament weigh-in, come to the FLW EverStart at Roosevelt Lake. You’ll have a great time, meet some great anglers who are always willing to talk and sign autographs. A special thanks to Westernbass for allowing us to again get the word out, and good luck to all FLW anglers!

Re: FLW EverStart - Roosevelt Lake Final Update
Our volunteer group is not involved with the actual tournament. That is what the FLW does, so we do not know the names of anglers nor do we know how many boaters have signed up. We basically assist the anglers and the FLW where needed and coordinate the tournament with local agencies and businesses to make sure things run smoothly.
