Wow a 100% payback Circuit! Absolute Bass @ Folsom

Post by biteme »

I got word of this new Tournament Circuit and thought I would post it up. With a low entry fee I thought some of you that live in the area would like to also know about it, affordable entry and close by so shouldnt take much gas money! Heres whats on the flyer. 100% payback seems like a legit deal! Something we've been looking for in a circuit.
Hello Fisherman,
We are starting some new tournaments at Folsom Lake . I am doing it because myself and others want to fish and not break the bank doing it. All of the money you pay in will be paid out. There will be an 80.00 entry and a 20.00 big fish. $100.00 all in. 1 in 5 payout.
• March 3rd
• April 7th
• May 5th
• May 19th
• June 9th
• TOC November 9th & 10th

This is the epitome of the problem we have here in CA! Too many people think they can run tournaments that are better/cheaper/higher payout. I say bring back the 100+ boat turnouts so that we can actually make money fishing! The only way that will happen is to get rid of all the tournament circuits but one or two...

Well I for one don't have the cash to run all over. When I saw this and that it was all local I was in. One lake, close to home, and 50.00 a piece entry. This is what sold me. I'm not trying to drive all over the place to fish. Until I saw this I wasn't going to fish a circuit this year anyway. I'm sure there's more like me. Plus this is 100% payback!
Btw I'm not connected to them at all. I'm not on the staff, I not getting by entries paid ect. I just thought this was a good option for those that want to stay close to home.

Just got off the phone with Shane. Sounds like a great deal. 100% payback. He has some help with local vendors and volunteers to help with the costs, weigh in, permits, etc so it will be 100% payback. With low enough entry fees to allow all to fish and not complain about the entry. As Shane said "he just likes to fish" local tournaments - me too. Since ABA left Folsom and went to Oroville, CFW and Bullards, and does not have a full circuit, this sounds like a good alternative. So all of you internet whiners, shut up and show up and fish. You can't catch em on line!!!!

I am doing this because I want to fish tournament's at Folsom with a decent turn out and there just is not any( other than Future Pro's one event and i will be there too). It is my home lake and talking to the local guys that fish it we decided there could be a fair amount of guys that would want to fish something like this. I am trying to make everyone happy knowing that it is an impossible task. The guys that have held tournaments out there before probably think I am crazy for doing this and maybe I am but someone had to. I am not keeping any money and in fact I am donating money and time because I love the competition. Ryan over at C & C is helping out with some costs and John Maes is donating some Spy eye wear. Scott Shambre is helping by donating his time to run the weigh in along with my friend Travis and his Wife. If you want to come fish then great....please come on out and if you don't like it then please don't bash a guy for trying. I am not trying to take away from other circuits because I fish most everything out there and talked to a few organizations and explained that I was not trying to be anyone's competition. The lake is at a good level and the fishing has been picking up so grab a partner and come on out.

Is there any way to find a boater? I'm interested but just don't have enough fish catching experience on Folsom to justify donating $100 just yet

Susie's Cafe will be opening at 4:30 for anyone who wants to eat or just grab some coffee . We will be signing up there before heading out to the lake. I have the state park guys opening the gates at 6:00am and we will try to blast off around 6:30ish. Blast off will be done in sign up order. Any questions you can email me at supershane72@gmail.com or call me on my cell @ 916-532-5131. It is looking to be a good turn out so should be fun.

26.47 for first
17+ for second
16+ for third

Shane ran a great tournament! It went smoothly and effeciently, was no-nonsense, affordable for everyone and had a great payout! I wouldn't be surprised to see this series grow much bigger than the 20 boats that came out yesterday! Either way...great day on the water. Here's a pic of the winning fish anchored by a 9.26LM and 6.5+ spot. Lookin' forward to the next one...

Congrats to the top three boats. Wish I would have had that swim bait tied on sooner.

Never argue with an idiot; He'll beat you to death with stupidity.
I AM NOT SAYING THERE SHOULD BE CAPITAL PUNISHMENT FOR STUPIDITY,
BUT, WHY DON'T WE JUST TAKE THE SAFETY LABELS OFF OF EVERYTHING
AND LET THE PROBLEM SOLVE ITSELF?"
