I went to service my motor due to water pressure issues. I had my water pressure alarm go off on my last 2 trips and also my temperature alarm.
I took my boat in for service and my mechanic noticed small pieces of wood clogged in my motor along the water cooling systems/ lines.
after removing and checking everything I got 3psi vs 2psi of water a idle and finally hit 20psi w/ a little trim and some gas.
Unfortunately last time out again, I think it happened again. My motor went into guardian mode. My water pressure alarm went off and so did my temperature alarm...
My water pressure seems to be jumping around drastically. I be cruising about 3/4 trimmed up at about 5500 rpms with 15psi and when I decide to push some it some more, my psi will instantly drop to 7-9psi...it not a gradual drop as my motor trims up. it takes a lunge.
I am bringing my boat back in and out of commission... I am so frustrated, I think I might buy a new motor if I can't figure this out..
If you boaters have any ideas please let me know... btw my whole lower unit is new including water impeller.
thanks,
Steven

Yep. Mine is at Boatmasters right now. And my thermostat also had wood in it causing it to stay open and not heat up properly. I assume it is from all of the decaying hyicent floating around.

Thanks mike for the input...it seems like my issues are coming when I hit that last 10% of trim left. That's when my water pressure drops crazy...but if I only play with trim up to 75% I am all good... Still..I want to have everything checked out... It really stops me from chasing the tides,,,,

is your motor mounted on a jack plate?
Never argue with an idiot; He'll beat you to death with stupidity.
I AM NOT SAYING THERE SHOULD BE CAPITAL PUNISHMENT FOR STUPIDITY,
BUT, WHY DON'T WE JUST TAKE THE SAFETY LABELS OFF OF EVERYTHING
AND LET THE PROBLEM SOLVE ITSELF?"

Yea it's on a jack plate...it's a factory manual plate...It's about 3" below pad. I never adjust it. What is wired is all of a sudden I have this problem... I have never had this issue the last 2 years..
Re: are you delta guys having motor issues?
Yes! My last two trips have been cut short. First was a bad cranking battery, and second was a bad solenoid.

with cooler weather, your motor will run better. you might be getting more lift and your upper water intakes might be coming out of the water and sucking air. that would explain the big drop in water pressure at wot. also check and see if your poppet valve and thermostats are working correct and not stuck closed

Re: are you delta guys having motor issues?
Thanks for the info blkdog.... I am going to give the boat another try this Friday or Saturday... I did notice a little more chine walk than normal.... Possibly due to the cooler weather... So I am going to keep it cool, run the boat a little easy and not trim her out to much... I'll see how that goes...
