Records Fall at Havasu WON BASS

Post by tbob »

The saying that records are made to be broken was made clear twice at Lake Havasu as both the one day and final weight records were exceeded.
Congratulations to Justin Hanold of Poway, Ca for getting the day one lead and extending it today, and win by 2 1/2-pounds against some of the best desert lake fishermen in the west.

The full Pro and AAA results are up on www.wonbass.com

Is anyone else having problems getting on the WON Bass website? I used 4 computers at home, both my cell phones, and now my computer at work...and all I get is a blank screen...

All i want is the full results...I understand re-directing us to your website Bob, because you want the traffic. But unless I mysteriously forgot how to navigate the internet, your website is broken...

I wouldn't hold your breath on those numbers being posted. Posting payouts doesn't seem to be WON Bass' fortay. I see the winner got $10,360 and the US Open entry, other than that its a mystery.

No problem posting the payback. Billy isn't back in the office, but I will get it up later this week.

The amount paid back at our first few events is around 90% on the Pro side. I will update all the Pro events we have had this year under the new format, and get them up on the WONBASS.com later this week.

The payback on the pro side at Clear Lake will be in excess of 100% when you include the Nitro Z-7 and Mercury motor.

The honest reason why I prefer to post the results on wonbass.com and to link there is because often there is a mistake or correction later and it is much easier to only correct in one place. Yesterday for instance there were photos switched out after they first went up and small changes to things such as names. So with things like images I try to place links, and the same with results and such. The traffic we get after an event is a spike, but very little of it comes from the actual links ( at least per Google Analytics ). I think most west coast anglers are aware of how to get to wonbass.com and all the other regional tournament websites, so perhaps they just open a new window and type in the domain name.

I didn't see the site go down as I was posting to the website and checking it the last two days here in San Clemente, or did I see these post until just today. But certainly I wasn't looking 24/7. So I am not sure what was going on, but I trust some of you were having problems and I apologize. It seems to work now, so hopefully you didn't have to wait too long.

Nothing yet ?????

I have been on the wonbass.com site about 10 times just today updating the links to the online sign-up on wonews.com, and maybe 20 times over the weekend, and I am guessing Jim V. got those results off our site today too. Are you talking about going to wonbass.com, the link in this thread or going to wonews.com ?

I am not doubting what you are saying, but from home or work, or my iphone, I haven't had a problem.

Nope. JimV got me what I wanted so I'm not going to beat a dead horse. And I was not trying to light you on fire either. I did not try wonews.com Just wanted to see how everyone did.

Thanks Jim.

Thanks for this reply. Just so you know I am not asking so I can mathmatically figure out the % of payout. I like to see how lucrative each event is based on the participation. Also, potential AAA's ask me "how much can I win" and I refer them to the WON BASS site only to find no "winnings" listed. If this could be done for all events that would be great. Delta, Orville too? Thanks in advance.

I had no problem with the website loading. Copy & pasted results from it. I also asked last year & the year before why payouts were never posted and was told, among other reasons, that it was a software problem they were working on. When it was resolved, there would be 100% disclosure (transparency) of every dollar that came in and what was paid out. Sounds like a great idea if it materializes.

Jim
There was a problem that was causing some browsers to not view our home page, and probably some other pages. I think I have it resolved for the home page and some of the key jumping off pages, and our most recent results from Havasu. As I mentioned it looks fine on my computers, but I did find an older PC that had the issues reported, and I think the problem has at least been partially identified and partially resolved. I will work on it some more tomorrow and until it is fixed. If anyone has problems please let me know at bobt@wonews.com

Also, I know we had plans to add the dollars paid out to the onsite program and send it all in with the results, but we haven't received those changes and implementing them onsite would also cause some problems. We might get it done with the teams sooner, and handle the pro side manually. I do sometimes add another column to the html table for "winnings" when team TD report the amounts paid out. I know the Colorado River TD reports this information to me and Rich Tauber puts it into his written report we put up after every event, and post it here on westernbass.com and on other websites.

We are not at all trying to hide anything, which is why we went to a $700 all-in entry on our ProAms. At all of our team events the payback is disclosed fully. There really are no secrets, and if anyone has a question they are more than welcome to ask us, and we will tell you.
