Check Out the Navionics Maps on your Favorite Lakes!!

Post by Caudawg »

We have upgraded most of the major lakes in the west on our "Lake Info" and "Reports" sections of WesternBass with new Navionics Contour Maps where you can click and click to drill down for better contours. These maps can help you plan out your day on the water and hopefully show you some things about your favorite lakes you did not know in terms of bottom contours!!! ALSO!!! These maps will be updated on a fairly regular basis as more contour data is uploaded to Navionics!

Here is just a sampling of lakes. For more lake maps click the "Reports" or "Lake Info" pages buttons on the right side of this page--------->>>>>>>

Hi Mark, Tshombe with Navionics here, what exactly were you looking to do? The maps do a couple of things...1. They show you detailed contours of the actual maps you would have on your GPS Chartplotter! 2. This now becomes a great pre-fishing planning tool...find the bite, find the structure, find other examples of that same structure where the bite currently is elsewhere on the lake which can provide you with multiple opportunities to catch more fish!

Tshombe,
I don't have a chart plotter.
I have a Humminbird 997c on the console, and a Lowrance HDS5 on the bow.
I was hoping to be able to print out the maps to have to study and carry on the boat.

Hi Mark, sorry I missed this message! I use the term GPS Chartplotter/Graph/GPS kind of interchangeably. Your HB & Lowrance are considered GPS Chartplotters by some, so sorry about the semantic mess i made.

So, to answer your question, there are programs out there that allow you to copy whatever is on your screen and print that capture out...SnagIt is the one that I use. However, there are much easier ways if you have a smartphone with a waterproof case! The Navionics app is $5 for the droid phones, $15 for droid tablets, & $10 for the iPhone and about $55 for the iPad. I know they make waterproof cases for the iPhone and iPad and I assume they make them for the Droid as well. Hope this helps!
