Just make sure you double the braided line before tying the knot (because of the smaller diameter).

The flourocarbon doesn't need doubling.

I do 6 turns on each side.

This is a very common setup for saltwater and steelhead fishermen.

Try the Albright knot. It goes through the guides like it's not there.
And it's strong. Make a 2" loop in the flouro, thread the braid through the loop and hold it with the thumb and finger that are holding the loop, wrap back down toware the loop 12 times, and thread the braid back through the loop. Wet them bothe, then pull the braid tag and main line back down away from the flouro until they are tight. It's on Gator's knot page.

if you tie an Albright knot, make sure you put 2 half-hitches around the mainline in the flourocarbon before you trim it off. Flourocarbon has a slicker, harder finish than mono and it will slip.

Also make sure the tag end goes out the opposite way the mainline goes thru.

I used to tie hundreds of these knots for tarpon leaders. It is a great, easy to tie knot.

I would also put a dot of Knotsense glue on the knot to lock it. Knot Sense is sold at Flyshops.

tn,
I had the knot slip when I only used six wraps of braid around the flouro. With twelve, I have cut my hand testing the knot, but never had it fail on the water. I'm tying either 14lb braid to 10lb flouro, or 30lb braid to 12lb flouro. Maybe different size lines act differently.
