I would like to put this unit on the bow of my boat to replace my LCX-27. I am running the LCX-28 on my dash and want to keep this unit hooked up. Will there be any issues and what information should I need to know

If you run the Elite in DI mode there should be no problems. If you run both in sonar mode at 200 kHz they will probably crosstalk and you will get interference.
