ABA Lake Mead South Team Classic Please read...

At 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, Oct 2nd we received a call from a Federal Government representative officially cancelling our permit for the Lake Mead Team Open for October 4th & 5th.

We will reschedule this event as soon as the federal government employees return to work. IF the shutdown is short in duration AND, IF the Federal Government representatives will grant the new permits quickly, we will request November 15th & 16th as the replacement dates. Please understand that THIS DATE IS NOT YET APPROVED and will not be approved until the government shutdown ends and our formal application is submitted. We are providing you with our intentions so that you can make tentative plans.

If you are pre-signed, your money will be rolled into the new date. If you are unable to attend you will, of course, be refunded. You may also choose to change your entry to the North Team Classic at Clear Lake on October 18th & 19th.

SUNSET STATION RESERVATIONS
The Sunset Station people have been great. If you have reservations for Sunset Station, they will honor your reduced room rates for this weekend if you would like to spend the weekend in Las Vegas. If you would like to cancel your reservations for tomorrow, you must call TODAY and they will refund your reservation in full.

You mentioned yesterday that the deadline was TODAY at 5pm. They senate and the congress menbers are meeting with the president at 5:30pmEST TODAY. That's 2:30pm our time...WHY CANT the decision wait until then??? Theres a chance the shut down will end today at that meeting... The government offices would then be open tomorrow...

This is why:

Pete, as stated in the post today, a representative from the government called our office and said that the permit is cancelled no matter what. There is nothing we can do, they will not honor the permit even if a budget is passed and the lake reopens.

Its a bummer but it is what it is... Not my fault or the ABAs fault.. Thanks ABA for the notice on the projected dates. I already called the Sunset station and changed my reservations to the tentative dates you posted of Nov 15th and 16th. Hopefully we get the permits for that weekend.

Fishing might be better in Nov anyway..

+1 John... Even though its not the result I wanted to hear (I wanna fish) At least the ABA is on top of it and they put out dates that they are gonna shoot for so we can make tentative plans. And the Sunset station was really good with changing my reservations for me to the projected dates.
