Lake Piru

Post by ginodnjoe »

Went out to Piru last Friday (5-2-14). I haven't been to that lake in long while. It was pretty disappointing and suprising to see how low that lake is. It wasn't a huge body of water to begin with but it is now about 1/3 of it's original size. I can remember years ago going waaaaay up through the north end channel. We would slay em on spinnerbaits, flukes and flippin the tules, then jigs in the fall. I can also remember fishing WON teams at this lake and it had plenty of shoreline for 50 or so boats. Now you would be lucky to fish 10-15 boats out there. Not to mention it has been infected with this pain in the a%% Quagga. I'd give anything to go back 20 years and fish that lake again. Definately a shame......
