Great Article On BMC From Toronto

Post by GregD »

My boss's boss, who's located at our manufacturing plant in Toronto, know's that I am into bass fishing and have competed at low levels. He knows nothing about fishing. I was mentioning to him last week that it was incredible that the first day of the "super bowl" of bass fishing (so he'd understand...) was delayed because it was so damned cold first thing in the AM. I knew he'd understand as being in Toronto, it was even colder for him that day...

So today he mentions to me this article that he saw in the Toronto paper written by one of their writers who visited the event. The writer knew nothing about competitive bass fishing and the article turned out to be more about the America you find outside of the big cities like NY, Boston, etc, which so many foreigners see as what the whole country is like. And how the bass fishing sport is so true to that America. I especially liked the quote from the one Canadian competitor... "We’re patriotic when we’re playing hockey at the Olympics,” Mercer said. “These people – they’re just different. And it’s honest.”

Anyways, I really liked the article. Enjoy.
