Keys to a new vehicle for Coors Light Championship winners
Best anglers on the delta set to battle for the keys to a new vehicle at the 2014 Coors
BETHEL ISLAND, Ca. - If you ever wondered what it would be like to see the best delta sticks in the west go "at it" in on the California delta- in the spring time...then hold on...that day is coming In just two weeks at the Coors Light Delta Open Team Series Championship, hosted in part by Sugar Barge and Russo's Marina.
This field is “stacked” with some of the best anglers the delta has ever seen, and whoever wins, can surely be proud of the fact that such an accomplishment was executed in a field of true delta warriors.
May 2 & 3rd is the date, as ONLY 100 teams that qualified via one of the three 2014 Coors Light Delta Open Teams Series events (Yamamoto Big Bass Challenge, Snag Proof Open, River2Sea Open) will participate, and will bring their bass rigs loaded with each manufacturers product (the only baits they can use), and hold back NOTHING, in their quests to win this invitational event.
For at stake, in addition to the pride of claiming the 2015 Coors Light Delta Championship title, will be the keys to a new vehicle, courtesy of CABRAL Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge-Gem, the official sponsor of the Coors Light Delta Open Team Series, and Angler's Press.
This event will be a two-day, full-day affair, co-hosted by Sugar Barge RV Resort & Marina and Russo's Marina on Bethel Island, where Yamamoto Senkos, twin-tail grubs, Snag Proof's Bobby's Perfect Frogs, R2Sea S-Wavers, and Ish's "Bling" an "Biggie" Series baits will be available for anglers to use.
So save the date!... and come out to lend support to your favorite “delta rat”, as Angler’s Press presents the 2015 Coors Light Delta Championship!
See you there!

I'm sure this will be a great event. It's unfortunate that it was scheduled on top of a much larger event farther up river that most will be attending.

Not to rain on anyone's parade here, but what ever happened to winning boats?
BUZZBAITS IN FEBRUARY!@#$%^&*(
Re: Keys to a new vehicle for Coors Light Championship winne
Any chance this event can be rescheduled? Would hate to see conflict between local anglers and the elite pros. This seems like a really bad idea.

Re: Keys to a new vehicle for Coors Light Championship winne
I don't understand why so many anglers here are worried about B.A.S.S and if they will come back because there's another event 1.5 hours down the river.I have fished and supported every Bass open that has come to the Delta since 1997 there were 224 anglers in that event and the average was high in all events yet they have not returned (get a city to pay for room and board and B.A.S.S. will be back) don't matter if every angler on the Delta stays at home so the elite guys can fish B.A.S.S. DONT CARE!
I'm happy to have FLW,Won Bass and the Coors light event put on by Vince Harris ,they support the west coast.
If you are tournament director and your putting on an event where theres a prize thats 10k,boat,truck,air plane, lawn mower I don't care I'm fishing they are normally sold for capital anyways lets fish for a Rolex worth 20k what ever its a $100 to fish if you qualify.Someone please tell me where I can fish for a new truck for $100. There's a lot of work that goes in to getting a sponsor to dish out a prize that big.
I know a couple guys fishing in the Elite event on the Delta that could care less about the Coors light event.
I think more of the people on this forum should support FLW for their repeated support (Fish It) that they show us out west.
One more thing I will fish the Coors Light event and if I pull up on a spot and a elite guy comes in after me he's going to have to wait until I'm finished.
Respectfully

I would have to absolutely agree with Jerred on this. People continue to cry about the conflicting dates but Elite's aren't paying you a dime for watching the event or following them around like groupies. As a matter of fact they want you to pay them 150.00 to marshall, 50 dollars more then I'm going to pay to have a chance at a new truck. If you want to watch the elite guys then DVR the event or don't fish the Coors Light. Just don't complain about it! Vince is the only one on the West that give us the opportunity to fish for new 1500 Dodge for 100.00, so thank you for the hard work and effort you put into this.
Re: Keys to a new vehicle for Coors Light Championship winne
Jerred, what if it's the other way around and you have a chance to win on Sunday and get to your spot and have an elite guy sitting on it and whack in them?
Sure we will always run into those situations but why not try to avoid them?
I personally blame both sides and think it's just stupid to compete against each other as tournament orgs instead of working together (at least so far I haven't heard anything in that regards).

Andy your way out line for calling me a tough guy if your looking to cause trouble please go to another site.
The only time I post on this site is help new fisherman and answer questions on fishing and tournaments.
Most bass fisherman are curtous and Im one of them your taking my statement out of context.
I have spent a lot of money tournament fishing over the last 24 years with boats ,tackle etc. I have the right to fish a area that I have stopped on and discovered .Its my decision if Im there first,If I feel I should give it up to another angler in any event .I feel I'm fishing at the highest level possible offered out west and I have never tried to make the classic nor will I ever have the chance until B.A.S.S. comes closer to home going on 1,400 mile drives and running a business can be difficult. If I'm in a position to win an event valued at $20k + I'm not moving so a Elite guy can try to make sure he has a better shot to win. That's fishing and that's the way it goes sometimes.
B.A.S.S just had a event on Lake Guntersville ,and there was a 150 boat tournament at the same time.Do you think B.A.S.S.is going back to Guntersville ? defiantly. The Delta is 10 times the size of Guntersville and Vince Harris will be lucky to have half that many boats in the Coors light event.
There's a lot of things that can go wrong in any event with many variables if it's not another angler fishing your spot it's the wake board five thousand crew setting up shop 20 yards in front of you doing stunts.it has happens to me many times and I that's fishing.
In order for me to fish the elites I would have to qualify in the opens that are not offered out west and I have no desire to go clear across the country to do that.
We need to start concentrating on what is available out west to fish FLWs numbers of participation need to grow and Won Bass CA open needs more anglers also .B.A.S.S does not offer us any chance to make the classic out west,It still requires going east.80% of the B.A.S.S. Elite field complain when B.A.S.S. Comes out west and the other 20% are western guys. As a tournament organization your going to listen to your anglers that support you year after year.

Well said Jerred!!
Why is it that those that complain the most are not involved in either events?

Re: Keys to a new vehicle for Coors Light Championship winne
I can't believe how many grown *** men whine over this situation. When was the last time you saw a check in your hand from B.A.S.S? NOT NEVER!! B.A.S.S is a business and although the Elite guys worked hard to get where they are at and in an ideal world every body of water would be off limits to local fishermen when they came to town but that's not the way it is. They are PROFESSIONALS and dealing with these obstacles is part of their job. People think that Vince scheduled this on top of B.A.S.S it's actually quite the opposite. If you are supposed to be at the Jamboree like everyone else to get your permit then that's what should have happened, or at least a call to work out the details but that never happened. Is Vince supposed to walk on egg shells and wait until B.A.S.S gets their dates down just because they are who they are? That answer would be no.. Since when does another man's or organization's money become more important than yours? This isn't their first rodeo and the Elite guys I've spoken to don't seem to be worried about is so why are you? If you put up 1,500.00 for an FLW event and there are 3 other tournaments going out that same weekend, are you going to cry about it? If your sacken em on a stretch on day 1 and 2 and the wind blows 30 mph into your bank on cut day what are you going to do? Your going to adapt and change, which is what we are all going to do this weekend. This isn't Burgerking Andy you can't always have it your way...P.S. I bet you half of the guys crying about this whole deal aren't fishing EITHER event.. If you qualified for the Coors Light and elect not to fish because of the Elite's conflict then that's completely on you. I on the other hand will pay my 100.00 to have a chance to win a 1500 Dodge Ram. This would be a completely different topic if Vince were to schedule the Coors Light on the same weekend as the OPENS but the only problem with that is there are Opens in every other part of the country EXCEPT the West Coast! So what do the Elite's coming out here do for us? NOTHING! You and I get no benefits for the them fishing out here, so this shouldn't even be a topic of conversation.

I just want to know one thing...Will there be more jersey wearing, wrapped boat having "Pros" fishing the Elite event, or for the Dodge Ram?

On Saturday and Sunday there will be more fishing the Coors Light. Hope that answers your question.
