the fortrex is a rock solid unit about .10% of the play and movement
of the maxuum. they make it easy to remove if your not hard wired into the
boat. two thumbs up on the construction of the units.

If you can afford it, I would just get the Fortrex. I have had both. The Fortrex is much easier to lift and far more stable when stowed. The locking mechanism of the Fortrex is very secure and does very well in rough water.

i wouldn't hard wire it in.
whats the thing you use the most
and when it breaks your S.O.L
if you have a plug now use it.

Get the Fortrex. I hardwire mine. Knock on wood!!!!! I've never had one breakdown in 15 years. Great product. I do have a Maxxum on a River boat. Never had an issue but after getting used to the Easy-Assist feature of Fortrex...I about yank my arm off lowering it into the water

minnkota makes a 40 and a 60 breaker.
they are in line breakers, a snap to reset if needed.
don't use the thermal ones they take to long to reset.
i run the 40 on my 101 and never popped it.
