Berkley Fusion19 Hooks

Post by ttb31183 »

Berkley is known for a lot of things, but hooks are not one of them. I was surprised to see they came out with a new hook lineup at ICAST, but was immediately impressed. If you have noticed, several brands are now coming out with hooks that have a coating on them to make them stronger and sharper at the same time. I saw this several times at ICAST and have used a few hooks like this from other brands and am a fan. Berkley calls theirs the SLICKSET coating.

The Berkley version is called the Fusion19 and they really nailed it with the hook styles and sizes. A good wacky hook, flippin’ hook, extra wide gap, weighted swimbait hook and drop-shot hook are all a must for bass anglers and they have the right selection to cover all of them.

Price wise, they are $3.99 to $5.99 which is right in line with other quality hooks. Sizes determine the amount in each pack but they are about the same as all of the other brands.
I have yet to fish them but they are sharp with the fingernail test and the styles are all things I use. I’ll let you know how they perform on the water.

Ahh... time to recycle the innovation. I still have hooks that are Teflon coated and were in .5 sizes .. I.e. 4.5, 1.5 etc...
~~ I'm trying to think but nothing happens ~~

Agreed. Like clothing, styles leave and come back.
