DROUGHT STATUS CA 10 LARGEST RESERVOIRS
Updated November 13, 2022
Folsom, Calif.- The beginning of November has brought rain to Placer County and the first sizable snowfall to the Lake Tahoe region. Optimism remains for filling California’s 10 largest reservoirs, although forecasters are expecting another dry and mild La Nina season ahead. Let’s hope they’re wrong!
Locally, Folsom Lake starts November at 30 percent of average. Lake Oroville, which at one point was forced to shut off it hydropower after dropping to 22 percent, now also sits at 31 percent according to the California Department of Water Resources. Bullards Bar remains a relatively bright spot at over 100 percent of average and sits at 62% capacity. A little bit of good news as the wet season gets underway: California reservoirs are beginning this season at a slightly better position than the same time last year. Bring on the snow and rain!
