16.82 to Win Berryessa Youth Division

The FPT’s new Gone Fishin Marine Youth Division, saw several high school/youth teams come out to enjoy the opening season fun and “represent” for their respective high schools and youth bass clubs, as the Future Pro Tour has always been about developing angler skills. These “young guns” flexed their skills, and clearly demonstrated - with outstanding performances, that they are truly the future of our sport.

The top three high school teams were:

  • Gerik Meyers and Zach Featherston – 16.82 (Yuba Sutter Fishing Club)
  • Brian Lopez and Shawn Fields – 14.69 (Yuba Sutter Fishing Club)
  • Joesph Mariani and Ceasar Lewis – 14.35 (Yuba Sutter Fishing Club)

The top three teams were awarded a beautiful plaques and scholarship cash of $200, 125, and $100 dollars respectively for their achievements, and the top ten Gone Fishin Marine Youth Division teams will be invited to participate in the 2017 Future Pro Tour Classic where they will have the opportunity to compete against each other to win their own separate grand prize and scholarship cash!

And big thank you to Gone Fishin Marine in Dixon California for supporting the youth angler and making this division possible, and a SPECIALTHANK YOU to Mendi Nevarez for her efforts in coordinating all of youth teams.

Next up...?

The Coors Light Future Pro Tour comes to Folsom Lake for its annual spring time shootout event – the “Capitol City Showdown” April 22nd, going out of Granite Bay.

Why is it a shootout? Because our past records clearly indicate that this mid-April event continuously produces the biggest fish of ANY of the 9 different lakes the tour visits!

So hang on...with Folsom Lake on the rise, the potential to produce a TON of areas - with submerged willow trees will be over the top …. and this could very well be a BIG BASS shootout!

We look forward to seeing you there!
