2021-22 College Bass Fishing Season to Mark 11th Year of the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year

SAN ANTONIO, TX – College fishing’s only all-encompassing, comprehensive ranking system that is based on how well a school does on the water all season long will begin its 11th season on June 1, 2021. The Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia awarded the first-ever title of its kind to Arkansas Tech University in 2021 on the shores of Kentucky Lake in Paris, TN. Since that monumental moment in collegiate bass fishing, the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year has grown into the most prized possession of every college bass fishing club or team in the country from California, all the way up to Michigan, and down to Florida. The 2021-22 season promises to provide another exciting and compelling year-long race to crown the number one bass fishing team in the nation.

The journey to becoming the 2021-22 Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia will begin on June 1, 2021 and conclude at Pickwick Lake on May 27, 2022. Each new collegiate bass fishing season brings new faces to the trail and a great deal of excitement to this demographic of the sport. As teams plan their quests to be ranked in the Top 25 in the nation with eyes towards the chance to win the School of the Year title in 2021-22, it is important that each team/bass fishing club study up on the points earning event opportunities on the schedule.

All ACA events will be counted as double points. This means that each school bass fishing club/team will be awarded points for their two highest-finishing teams that earn points at that specific event. ACA major events will award 1,250 points to 1st place(regardless of field size), and the winner of the ACA Championship will receive 1,500 points.   • Bass Pro Shops Big Bass Bash presented by Berkley – Kentucky Lake – March 12-13, 2022
  • Barnett Reservoir Rumble – Barnett Reservoir – April 9-10, 2022
  • BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops – Pickwick Lake – May 26-27, 2022
