Now that 2023 is in the rearview mirror and we’re full steam ahead with 2024 let’s look back at the year and the big bass caught last year. We called out on social media to get some big bass pictures from last year and were rewarded with some monsters. The following lunkers were caught nationwide and included some historic fishing venues.
David Chong – 7.49lbs
During a tournament, Canada’s David Chong caught this beautiful St. Lawrence River smallmouth on a Z-Man Hella CrawZ rigged on a Carolina Rig.
Jeff Turk – 5.84lbs
These two excellent smallmouth were caught on Idaho’s Lake Coeur d’Alene. The big one weighed in at 5.84lbs.
Greg Dudley – 5.6 pounds
Dudley caught this beauty of a smallmouth on Santa Rosa Lake, New Mexico, with a crappie jig! “Who says big fish don’t eat small Baits? LOL,” he asked.
Monte Coon – 11.10lbs
What’s better than catching an 11-pound bass? Catching one in a tournament like Coon did at the Eagle Mountain Tuesday Night Tournament in August! He landed it on a Senko in 4 feet of water by a dock.
Randolph Decker – 4.5 pounds
Decker caught this 4.5-pound smallmouth on the Columbia River in October.
