Redding Yamaha Sea-Doo on the Benefits of the Yamaha Four-Stroke
Redding Yamaha Sea-Doo, or simply RYS, is one of the biggest Yamaha dealers in the region. It is right in their name, and they offer just about everything Yamaha produces. For the angler, they provide a full line of outboard engines, including popular models like the SHO four-stroke.
Benefits with a Yamaha 4-Stroke Outboard
There are many reasons why anglers rely on Yamaha’s line of outboard engines, and one of the biggest is their reputation for reliability.
RYS Finance Manager Ryan Tripp says there are several factors why Yamaha’s four-stroke engines, and four-strokes in general, are so popular right now.
“Four-strokes are the leader in the market right. They are cleaner on emissions and have better fuel economy,” he summarized.
All of those reasons are why anglers are looking at Yamaha's four-stroke engines from the SHO down to smaller kicker motors for trolling.
“The saltwater guys especially really love Yamaha outboards. They are reliable, and the saltwater environment can be really tough on things,” said Tripp. “They are well-built and last,” he said.

Go Four-Stroke and Stop Adding Oil
One of the biggest plusses for going with a Yamaha four-stroke from RYS is the change from continually adding outboard oil to simply changing it out every year. This can lead to cost savings and also saves time and hassle.
“People are enjoying four-strokes for many reasons. One of the biggest is that you don’t need to add oil to them continually,” said Tripp.
Yamaha Promotion
As Tripp mentioned, the smaller outboards are a popular choice for boaters visiting RYS.
“The 9.9hp kickers and smaller engines are good sellers for the trolling guys,” he said.
Yamaha is running a promotion on their 2.5-hp up to 175-hp, which is something that will appeal to the trolling crowd and bass anglers at the same time.
The promotion is called the “Why Wait for Spring Fall Sales Event,” and it is valid now until November 26th, 2019. It applies to new Yamaha four-stroke engines and includes a dealer credit that is dependent on the size of the outboard. This credit is good for additional goods and services from your Yamaha dealer.
In addition to the credit, there is up to a six-year warranty offered for these outboards. This includes the standard three years of Yamaha Limited Warranty Coverage, along with the additional protection of a Yamaha Extended Service (Y.E.S.) plan.

Warranty for 200-300-hp Yamaha Outboards at RYS
Also, part of this promotion is an offer for up to six years of warranty protection for larger outboards that are commonly rigged on bass boats. The 200-300-hp Yamaha four-stroke outboards include the following warranties.
200-225 HP - Three years of Yamaha Limited Warranty Coverage, along with the additional protection of Y.E.S.
The Y.E.S. value on these outboards is a $2,250 value but is free as part of this promotion.
250-300 HP – These outboards also include the three years of a limited warranty plus three years of Y.E.S. for a total of six years. The addition of the Y.E.S. is free and is a $2,700 value.
Maintenance and Warranty Length
As mentioned, the warranty promotion helps to increase the total length of warranty protection at no additional cost. This is something that provides peace of mind for the new outboard owner and can significantly help with the resale value of a boat.
When it comes to maintenance, four-stroke engines can be serviced at RYS, and Yamaha recommends a 20 and 100-hour service for their new outboards.
In addition to this, Tripp and the team at RYS recommend annual check-ups even if the outboard has not reached 100-hours of use.
“It is important to maintain them regularly and every year, even if they don’t have 100-hours of use. The oil will start to break down over time,” he said.
Outside of the Outboard World
Beyond the outboard, Yamaha has a full line of recreational vehicles, and RYS carries just about everything that Yamaha produces.
They offer street bikes, dirt bikes, PWCs, Cruiser and V-Twins, ATVs. Scooters, SxS, and Yamaha boats. They also have a line of Yamaha power equipment that includes generators, pressure washers, and pumps. Whatever you are in the market for that Yamaha manufactures, RYS can help.
Pre-Owned Yamaha
Beyond new products, RYS also has an ever-changing list of pre-owned Yamaha products. They currently have street bikes, side by sides, and ATV in stock and ready to go.
Yamaha is one of the most well-known brands in the world when it comes to anything with an engine. Their outboards are trusted by everyone from saltwater anglers and trout anglers who like to troll to bass anglers in a high-powered bass boat. No matter what boat you use or how you plan to fish, RYS has a Yamaha for you.
