Berkley Fishing Continues Support of Association of Collegiate Anglers

Berkley Continues Partnership with the Association of Collegiate Anglers and Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Series

San Antonio, TX – The Association of Collegiate Anglers announces a renewed partnership for the 16th year in a row with Berkley for the 2022 season of the Collegiate Bass Fishing Series. Berkley has also long been the presenting sponsor of the Bass Pro Shops Big Bass Bash presented by Berkley, and this will continue its support of the 2022 event set to take place on Kentucky Lake later this year in September.

“We are thrilled to be able to continue our partnership with the Association of Collegiate Anglers. Collegiate bass fishing continues to grow and has become an exciting way for young anglers to continue their love of fishing while pursuing an education,” said Berkley Sr. Vice President of Marketing, Jon Schlosser. “Beyond supporting collegiate anglers through our sponsorship, the team at Berkley Labs continues to push the envelope by developing baits that are scientifically proven to help anglers catch more fish.”

The Bass Pro Shops Big Bass Bash presented by Berkley has long been one of the most anticipated events of the season out on the Collegiate Bass Fishing Series. College fishing’s top anglers travel from all across the country to compete in this two-day big bass format, no-entry-fee event. Each year the Bass Pro Shops Big Bass Bash presented by Berkley boasts an overall prize list valued at more than $20,000 and awards double points to count towards the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia.

First introduced at the 2019 installment of this event, anglers are permitted to use only Berkley baits on day two of competition. This added twist has been a great success! Anglers have shown great confidence in the complete line of Berkley products, catching Kentucky Lake bass on everything from topwaters, to soft plastics, and even crankbaits. It has become very common to hear anglers on Day 1 saying that they are already catching bass on Berkley products.

“The Bass Pro Shops Big Bass Bash presented by Berkley is always a great event. It is the first ACA event of the season, and it’s a great way to kick off the new year,” said Wade Middleton, Director of the Association of Collegiate Anglers and CarecoTV President.

About the ACA

The Association of Collegiate Anglers (ACA), a division of CarecoTV, is a tournament organization created to facilitate growth, development, and structure within competitive collegiate bass fishing. The ACA created the original BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Series,17 seasons ago, which has evolved into the Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Series which is now recognized as the longest-running consecutive collegiate bass fishing series in existence. The ACA also provides support to dozens of smaller schools operating regional events nationwide which help to grow the exposure of college fishing. The ACA owns the Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Series, Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia Program, and associated assets. The ACA lineup of major college fishing events includes a variety of events nationwide that are multi-day events all of which are televised on several networks as well as streamed on a variety of connected platforms.

Thanks in part to the large diversity of media exposure the ACA provides the largest amount of televised and streaming coverage of any collegiate fishing series to include a dedicated television series on several television networks as well as additional coverage of select events inside other programs. This combination includes coverage from Discovery Channel, CBS Sports, NBC, Pursuit Channel, as well as other regional and national networks.
