Abu Garcia was another company that was busy developing new products for the upcoming year.
They expanded their lineup of with updates to their reels and also introduced some brand new products.
Here is the rundown of Abu Garcia’s latest items that will be at your favorite retailer soon.

#1 The Revo Rocket is Now Even Faster
The Rocket was already a high-speed reel when it was first released a few years ago, and they have managed to make it even faster.
The new version has a 10.1:1 gear ratio and should be an excellent choice for topwater, flipping, pitching and other techniques where you want your lure to move fast of for anglers who want to be able to pull the bait in quickly to make another presentation.
With this fast retrieve speeds comes 41-inches of line being pulled in for every turn of the handle. This reel can move a lure in a hurry and also allow anglers to pull up slack on long casts to drive the hook home. Besides the quickness, the reel is compact and features a Carbon Matrix drag, Infini brake system and many other Abu features. Retail cost is $299.95.
#2 Abu Garcia Ike Series
The Ike Series of rods have been out for a few years, and they have a whole host of rods designed for just about every technique out there with 21 total models. Now they have added spinning and casting reels that have the same quality design, and Ike approved look.
The low profile baitcaster retails for $249.95 and is available in both right and left-hand retrieves with a high-speed 8.0:1 and all-around 6.6:1 gear ratio available. It has ten ball bearings and one roller bearing and many of Abu’s great Revo reel technologies designed to keep it light and allow it to perform well.
The spinning reel comes in two sizes, a 20 and 30, which should cover many situations bass anglers encounter. Retail cost for the spinning reels is $229.95.
#3 Revo AL-F Low Profile
This reel retails for $249.95 and has eight stainless steel HPCR bearings and a roller bearing and features an alloy frame, Carbon Matrix drag, and aircraft aluminum main gear. It is available in both right and left hand and weighs just 5.47 oz. for both the 6.4:1 and 8.0:1 retrieves.

#4 Elite Max Spinning
The Elite Max spinning reel comes by itself for $69.95 or as part of a combo that retails for $119.99. It has stainless steel bearings and some Abu technologies you can find on more expensive reels like the Rocket Line Management System and Rocket Spool Lip Design. It has a spool that is machined aluminum and ready to spool braid or fluoro.
The combo is available in two different rod lengths that should cover many situations. Both a 6’6” and 7’ medium spinning rod are offered and will be great for a wide range of techniques.
#5 Revo Beast Low Profile
The Revo Beast Low Profile (shown) is just that, a beast. It was designed for throwing big baits and handling big fish. It has a 30-pound drag and big power knobs for battling giant fish.
It comes in two different gear ratios: 5.8:1 and 7.3:1 and both of them are available in left and right handed retrieves. It can hold a solid 205-yards of 14-pound line, and retail cost is $279.95.
It is a sturdy reel that weighs in at 9.52 ounce; but, still feels compact and easy to use when in your hands.
#6 Revo MGXtreme Spinning
The MGXtreme baitcast reel (shown) turned heads when it was first released thanks to an insanely light overall design. The spinning version is also lightweight, weighing in at 5.6 ounces for the 20-size and 5.9 ounces for the 30-size. They achieved this by using a carbon rotor and alloy gearbox.
Beyond just the weight, it is a high-end reel ($399.95) that combines all of the best technologies Abu Garcia has to make this their flagship spinning reel that is smooth, light and built to last.
#7 Revo X-Inshore
Last year Abu Garcia introduced the Revo X, a solid baitcasting reel that retailed for around $100. Now they have added an inshore saltwater version that should be a hit for anyone who fishes salt or brackish water.
It is the same solid reel as the Revo X, but they added three High-Performance Corrosion Resistant (HPCR™) bearings in critical locations and added a corrosion resistant frame so it can stand to the abuses of saltwater.
Abu Garcia has a long tradition of quality rods, and reels and the newest offerings continue that. They have continued to specialize their selection with reels that are extremely light, very fast, or designed for giant fish. No matter what you are looking for, they have a reel for you.
