GUATEMALA IS CALLING YOUR NAMEWe just returned from our third trip in three years to Casa Vieja Lodge in Guatemala. We brought six first-timers, and while the fishing was slightly slower than our past two visits, we still landed over 30 sailfish, plus marlin and mahi. It is truly a special place, and while we’d intended to take a year away in 2023, it’s becoming increasingly clear that we’ll go back. It is just too incredible to miss. Whether you’re a seasoned billfish tournament angler or someone who has never fished in saltwater, we highly recommend this experience — easy travel, first class accommodations, and the chance to catch many big fish every day. CVL has the biggest and best fleet in the area, so there are options at a variety of group sizes and price points. |

We’re headed back to Lake El Salto for our second trip of the year in mid-June and I still have at least one or two rooms left. The water should be low, and after an excellent couple of spawns the bite will be en fuego. Again, hit me up if you’d like more info. And don’t forget about our “Ultimate Guide to El Salto and Picachos” — we’re now over 100 articles and blogs about the Mexican bass fishing experience. |

Finally, we’re heading back to Sport Fish Panama Island Lodge to chase tuna, mahi, roosterfish, billfish and other species in November. Several friends who went on last year’s trip have already rebooked, but there are spaces left. I feel like I’m bombarding you with trip options and overusing the words “amazing” and “special,” but each of these trips has its own unique appeal. I’m glad that I don’t have to pick just one, but if that’s your situation give me a call and I’ll help you sort out your options. |
