Host Your Own Cabela's School of the Year Event for More Points and More Prizes!
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Has your college bass fishing club thought about hosting an Association of Collegiate Anglers sanctioned collegiate bass fishing tournament for the Cabela's School of Year race this spring? Now your club can gain more Cabela's School of the Year points, receive prize packages from ACA sponsors and get your club more exposure by hosting a sanctioned event for the Cabela's School of the Year race.
Comprised of over 40 collegiate tournaments nationwide, the Cabela's School of the Year program encompasses three tournament circuits, as well as numerous school sanctioned events, making the Cabela's School of the Year Title the most prestigious title in college fishing.
Collegiate anglers have spent countless amounts of time and money traveling to events across the country in order to earn the coveted Cabela's School of the Year points, but now anglers have an incentive to earn points, prizes, and club exposure by hosting a sanctioned event on their local body of water. In addition, several clubs use these events as fund raisers to help fund national travel.
Clubs that host a Cabela's School of the Year sanctioned event are now guaranteed a ten point hosting bonus for one tournament instead of five points and twenty points for hosting a series, consisting of three or more tournaments, instead of ten points. While the University of North Alabama racked up a total of 1,794 points in the 2015 season, the order of seven of the top twenty highest finishing teams in the Cabela's School of the Year Race were determined by less than twenty points, making every possible point extremely valuable.
Clubs will also receive a $500 prize pack for the event along with a pre-tournament press release gaining exposure for the event and a post tournament press release for results. Tournament results will also be posted on the Collegiate Bass Championship website for additional coverage. In addition, the ACA can assist with on-line registration and social media promotion of the event to help drive awareness.
To host your own school sanctioned event, clubs must create tournament flier with all of the tournament information and rules. Clubs must also have at least six members registered as The Bass Federation members.
The Bass Federation offers memberships that include FLW tournament costs and give you many other benefits, including a chance to fish TBF and FLW Championship, insurance coverage throughout the year in tournaments, and the option to compete in various TBF Events throughout the year as well.
