Ninja Specs

Coming in at seven-inches, and weighing 2 5/8-ounces, this bait is no joke.

It’s slow sink design will get you about one-foot under the surface with monofilament and around two-feet with fluorocarbon.

The Ninja Twitch’n Glider is made with high grade molded plastic. Its single joint is anchored by two sets of pins.

Also included is an extra tail.

Action

The Ninja Twitch’n Glider is designed to have the seductive “S-swim” action.

This can further be enhanced with rod twitches. By doing so, you can cause the bait to turn 180 degrees, to look that lunker in the eyes.

Rod, Reel, and Line

The weight keeps this glide bait relatively light; so, a monster swimbait stick is not need. A light swimbait rod will do the job.

Since this bait is incorporating treble hooks, a moderate action rod is preferable over a fast action model.

A moderate action rod serves three purposes:

1) It is good loading on a cast to gain distance

2) Itallows the fish to eat the bait

3) Once the fish strikes, the rod won’t rip the trebles out of the fish's mouth

For a reel, you don’t need that huge 400 size. Again, this bait is light for its size. Your standard baitcaster will suffice; but, a reel with a little more capacity will help, especially when casting this bait with the wind at your back.

Lastly, line must be considered.

As a swimbait enthusiast, mono and fluoro are the two I prefer.

If you don’t mind having your bait sit higher in the water column and the fish seeing your line, mono will do.

That said, if you want your bait to sit lower in the water column and have the “invisibility” factor, fluoro is your better option.

A line size of 15- to 25-pound-test will do the job.

In the know

The Ninja Twitch’n Glider is a great search bait.

At this length, the bait will pull fish to you (depending on clarity).

This translates into lots of followers. To increase the number of strikes you get from those followers, you need to “trigger” the fish to strike.

Generally speaking, about halfway on your retrieve, give your rod a couple light pulls and pause. This will cause the bait to speed up and then glide to the side. This is one of many techniques to be used when fishing this bait.

The fish will tell you what they want, you just have to listen.
