Josh Polfer Leads By Weight and Numbers

At The Columbia River For BAM Super 60 Pro Tour

BOARDMAN, Oregon – Patience and confidence baits paid off for Josh Polfer of Melba, Idaho during the first competition day at the third stop of the 2025 BAM Tournament Trail Super 60 Pro Tour season. Leading by both the Best Five and by Scorable Bass, Polfer was certified with a total weight that went 20.36 and a keeper count of 39 in the televised Bass Boat Technologies three-day event presented by Tackle Warehouse, the Boardman Community Development Association and Conservation Sponsor Fisherman’s Warehouse.

Polfer’s proven lures and methodical approach while Scoping allowed him to stretch his lead by more than a pound and eight scorable bass.

“My best baits were a Carolina rig and a dropshot,” said Polfer “I really just fished my strengths and enjoyed the whole day.”

Mixing in a variety of soft plastics, he rotated through creature baits, that included a lizard and a Zoom Brush hog as well as a Zoom Super Fluke.

“I threw Green Pumpkin and Bahama Craw,” Polfer added.

Locating Quality Fish

The majority of Polfer’s fish came from depths of 15- to 25-feet of water.

“I found a couple schools in practice, but they’d moved,” he said. “They weren’t really schooled up like before, but I was able to find them and follow them around. I’d catch a few, make my milk run, and then come back to pick off a couple more.”

The structure he focused on was split evenly between grass and rocks.

“When I was closer to the main channel where there was more grass, I fished the edge of the grass lines,” he shared. “Up shallower, on the high spots with broken rock, those were key areas. Holes in the grass gave me the perfect places to cast.”

His bites were spread throughout the day.

“It wasn’t fast and furious,” he said. “You could go around and not see a fish for 10 minutes, and then suddenly one would show up. If you made the right cast, 75 percent of the time, they’d bite.”

The Columbia River Showdown will continue Saturday where anglers will fish to qualify for a top-10 field cut and eligibility to fish on Championship Sunday.

BAM Super 60 Pro Tour Columbia River Results Day 1

Fans can follow the Bass Boat Technologies BAM Super 60 Pro Tour anglers live on TourneyX, watch the weigh-ins live at the BAM Trail website or join in-person at the weigh-ins each day.

Note: BAM Pro Tour anglers are ranked in Pro Tour events by both the heaviest five fish limit (Weight) and numbers of scorable bass caught (Keepers).

First place is held by the angler with the five heaviest bass, and second place is the highest keeper count. The standings then continue to alternate by weight/keepers.

Anglers ranked by weight on the leaderboard are denoted with an asterisk.

Anglers add to both of their Day One rankings on Day Two as an accumulated two-day total. Once both days are tallied, the field is cut to the top-10, all results are zero-ed out and the final 10 anglers fish for the five heaviest bass on Day Three to determine the champion.

It is set to be an exciting event and a game-changer in the 2025 points race. The top-10 going into the event were:
