MOORE MOVES TO TOP SPOT DAY TWO OF WILD WEST BASS TRAIL AT LAKE MOHAVE PRESENTED BY THE CITY OF HENDERSON #WWBT2017

The Wild West Bass Trail top-10 field cut for Championship Sunday on February 26 at Lake Mohave has been named.

SEARCHLIGHT, Nev. Laythe Moore of Banning, Calif. grabbed the lead on Day Two of the Wild West Bass Trail (WWBT) Pro/Am on Lake Mohave, presented by the City of Henderson, weighing the big stringer of the day at the desert fishery with 19.37. Moore’s sack was anchored by his biggest bass at 4.19. His two-day total of 37.18 moved him three spots and gave him a lead of more than four-pounds.

Securing a spot to fish in the top-10 on Championship Sunday kept Moore tight-lipped regarding his Mohave strategy.  “I am using a finesse technique and I’m getting most of my fish early in the morning,” he revealed.

Also climbing three spots, landing in 2nd place with a two-day total of 33.14 was Troy Lindner from Los Angeles, Calif. “It was a little bit tougher today; but I still caught ‘em,” shared Lindner who also chose not to disclose any fishing deets for the day.

Rocketing up the leaderboard from 11th,, Tai Au of Glendale, Ariz. weighed a full string at 17.25 to lock a spot in the top-3 for Championship Sunday. Au’s biggest bass went 4.29. “I sight fished ‘em all,” said Au.

The WWBT Pro/Am at Mohave will continue with the top-10 pros and co-anglers casting for a final day on February 26 – Championship Sunday. The day’s forecasted conditions call for cloud cover, a high of 50 degrees spiking at around 2 p.m. and winds from 5 to 11 MPH, changing directions from N, NNW, NNE, ENE, S to SSE throughout the day.

For Championship Sunday, each of the competing pros and cos will be separated into their own boats to once again catch the five biggest bass possible in eight hours on the lake. Each angler will be accompanied by an observer or member of the camera crew.

In this innovative format – new for 2017 – WWBT promotes the co-anglers to the front of a boat to make their own decisions, control their own destiny and get the first (and only) shot at the best cast.

The daily weights for all three competition days will be combined for each angler’s tournament total to determine both a WWBT pro and co-angler champion. Weights are compared against their respective sides – pros against pros and cos against cos.

A live stream of the daily weigh-in is available beginning at 3 p.m.

Preceding the weigh-in – at 2:40 p.m. – is the daily pre-game show featuring the West’s All-Time Leading Money Winner and WWBT tournament director Gary Dobyns alongside WWBT TV host Craig Gottwalls.

The live stream for both is can be found at the Wild West Bass Trail website or at the WWBT Facebook page.
