New flats boat elevates and improves on retired customer favorite
LARGO, Fla. – Innovative custom boat builder Intrepid Powerboats is bringing back its popular, long-retired flats boat with an all-new model, the Intrepid 200 Flats, a completely reengineered, cutting-edge version of the customer favorite originally introduced 25 years ago.
“Our original flats boat is considered legendary by Intrepid enthusiasts,”said Ken Clinton, president of Intrepid Powerboats. “As we set out to bring it back to life with the 200 Flats, we wanted to maintain all the core dynamics and thoughtful features customers loved while optimizing performance with the latest technological advancements.”
Enhanced with new technology, the new 200 Flats features a fully-infused resin hull and is built with an innovative woven hybrid never before used in the powerboat industry. The 200 Flats is the first Intrepid to combine carbon fiber with high performance, lightweight Innegra™fiber.
With a stepped tunnel hull for maximum stability plus a jack plate for shallow water performance, the 200 Flats delivers a safe, smooth and dry ride at both high speeds and shallow depths.
Among the customer favorite features upgraded for the 200 Flats is an advanced hideaway trolling motor that is completely stowed away under the deck and deployed through the bow after opening the hatch. At the helm, Intrepid owners appreciate that theconsole rises at the touch of a button to make running the boat from a standing position easier and more comfortable.
In Intrepid’s one-of-a-kind fashion, the 200 Flats can be custom styled and rigged to each owner’s unique desires through a customer-driven customization process.
