I’m sure we’ve all heard of the supply chain issues. These are very true of course. Dobyns Rods is in pretty good shape considering where many companies are. We have a few holes in our lineups but not many and I’m working to plug these holes. We are making some changes as we’re adding combos, reels, a new series of rods, lots of new hats, a lighter weight hoodie, a very nice light jacket, and a heavy jacket as well. We’ll also have some other accessories as well. Things that we’ve gotten requests for over the years.
The combos are something that we’ve had a lot of dealer requests for and finally decided to make them. These are not cheap combos as I couldn’t build a cheaper reel worth a darn. Retail will be $189.99.
Dobyns is finally going to bring a few reels to market. There’ll be three colors as guys like to match reels and rod colors. The reels will be accented with red, blue, and green colors. They’ll be available in three gear ratios for casting reels and they’re a 100-size reel. They’re available in both left- and right-hand models. They have 11 ball bearings and a roller bearing. They have a super smooth drag system with upgraded drag washers. They’re very smooth and cast super easy. The spinning reels will be available in the same three colors and in sizes 2000 and 2500. The Maverick Reels are overbuilt as most of our products are. They’ll retail at $99.99. I had to make reels for the combos but I kept upgrading them so I’d personally tournament fish with them. The rods and reels can be purchased separately or together for a better price point.
The new series of rods is also called Maverick Series. These are all graphite construction rods built along the lines of all Dobyns Rods. They’ll not have a foregrip so you can touch the blank as you palm your reel, they’re very well balanced, and sensitive. There are a bunch of models in casting and spinning with all of our popular lengths. There are lots of 7’ and 7’3” models with flipping and crankbait rods included. They’ll retail at $99.99.
All fishermen love hats and we’re adding a bunch. I get accused of “being an old man and set in my ways” by my office gals. So, when you guys see these funky colors, blame my gals. The cool colors with camo and such are my additions!!!
We’re finally going to offer a lighter weight 100% polyester hoodie. Our Super Heavyweight hoodie will still be in the lineup, too. This will give anglers more choices.
We will be offering a very conformable light jacket. Many of you guys have dealt with Chelsie over the years. This was her pick and she wears it all the time, even in the summer here at the office. I’m not sure if she loves it that much or if she’s just cold blooded . The heavy jacket is my pick. If I’m going to wear a jacket it’s going to be cold. It’s a jacket I wear fishing and hunting in the winter. It’s still comfortable and you can move in it plus it’ll last forever. Well, maybe not forever but I have one with the same material and build that’s over 20 years old and has many years left in it. So, there’s Chelsie’s lighter pick and my heavy jacket pick, but both are great jackets. We’re going to try and make a fun video where Chelsie talks about her pick and I talk about mine so you guys can get an idea on these jackets. If we pull this off it’ll be a miracle but probably worth a laugh.
These are some of the things we’re looking at for 2022. We’ll have stock on most of these things sometime in December. We’ll keep you posted.
