Oroville Champs Crowned | Youngest AOY's in Future Pro Tour history.

It is for sure that Pat Saddora, and Wendell Brown brought the 2016 Coors Light Future Pro Tour season to a glorious end last Saturday in their narrow victory over a tough field of competitors during the “Gold County Showdown” at Lake Oroville with only a 9.25 pound five-fish limit.

Moreover, in “Showtime” fashion, the team of Josh Parris and Nick Lynch beat tremendous odds, to make history and become the youngest Coors Light “Silver Bullet” Anglers of the Year in Future Pro Tour history.
But it is for sure that both teams realize - as do many of the teams that have competed in this grueling 6-event season, that the final and most important angling challenge is yet to come.

For even as the holidays descend upon us, and thoughts now turn to turkey carving and gift giving, you can bet that those looking to make a name and create a reputation for themselves will keep their competitive pilot lights burning, and when the time comes, be ready to compete in the 15th annual Coors Light Future Pro Tour Classic Championship, to be held the first week of March 2017 on Oroville Lake and Bullard’s Bar reservoir.

To add to the excitement for the only 100 teams who will compete in this 15th anniversary Classic Championship event, the keys to a 2017 RAM Truck (5.7 Hemi) will be the first place prize, along with a $25,000 world-record bounty for the final day at Bullard’s Bar.

Which team will come out on top is anyone’s guess, but you can best believe that the next four months will not only be filled with family, food, and gift exchanging, but also a whole lot of reel-lubing, line-stripping, and hook sharpening, as a field of the best amateur teams in the western United States look to put it all on the line in their pursuit of capturing the prestigious 2016 Coors Light Future Pro Tour Classic crown - the most coveted title in amateur bass fishing.

On behalf of the Future Pro Tour Organization, it’s staff and sponsors, we thank all of you for helping to make 2016 season the most successful ever, and sincerely wish each of you a safe and happy holiday season!
