A professional bass angler’s boat is an essential tool that they use across the country as they cast for cash. All bass boats serve a purpose to catch fish, but for them, it is a job requirement.
Plus, their boats are rigged with the latest and greatest equipment, often coming from a variety of different sponsors. This is why both Major League Fishing pros Brent Ehrler and Jared Lintner trust Anglers Marine to rig their boats.
How it Works
Anglers Marine’s Kyle Grover explained how it works when they rig a pros boat.
“It comes to use as just the boat, no graphs, and no motor. It is basically a blank canvas for us to work with,” he said.
Since the pros have agreements and sponsorships for electronics, outboards, trolling motors, shallow water anchors, and accessories, they gather them and have Anglers do the install.
“We have a giant pallet of all of their stuff and then start putting it together exactly how they want it done. This is something we do for all of our local pros as well, and they come to us because our team has the experience to rig everything right,” said Grover.
An Experienced Team
The staff at Anglers Marine includes four Mercury certified technicians and dedicated boat riggers.
“Jordan is our service manager, and Vincent has been with us for 18 years rigging boats. The pros trust Vincent with their own boats, and guys like Brent Ehrler have been coming to us every year since he has been a pro,” said Grover.
This experience is available to anglers and boaters of all levels. If they can fully rig a professional angler’s boat from bow to stern, they are more than capable of installing your next graph or shallow water anchor purchase.
A Time of Options
In recent years, bass anglers have begun to add shallow-water anchors, four-stroke outboards, bigger graphs, and trolling motors from multiple brands.
With all of these options, Anglers Marine has stayed up to date on the trends and are capable of installing it all, no matter who makes it. Plus, they are authorized dealers for all of the different brands of electronics and trolling motors.
They can professionally rig your Power-Poles or Talons, and have experience with Lowrance, Humminbird, Garmin, Raymarine, and any other electronics that a customer may want to install on their boat.
“We only sell Mercury Outboards, but we sell every brand of electronics and will have both the new Garmin Force and Lowrance Ghost trolling motors here,” said Grover.
New from Lowrance
An accomplished tournament angler himself, Kyle Grover runs Lowrance units and is excited to see the Ghost trolling motor for himself.
“There is a lot of hype for Ghost now, and guys are waiting to run them. We should have them in stock the first week of December,” he said.
He’s equally excited about the new LiveSight transducer.
“The guys who are running it are really liking it. It allows you to see those fish sitting in trees,” said Grover. “It also lets you to scan around in front of you.”
Mercury ProXS Four Stroke
Last year’s big news was the new four-stroke from Mercury. Now that it has been around for a year, Grover said he has been very impressed after running it this season.
“It is very fast to 50mph and still has that top-end speed that we had with the two-stroke ProXS. I have also noticed better fuel economy,” he shared. “Plus, you don’t have to worry about adding oil all the time.”
Another thing that Grover has noticed about the new outboard is battery usage. “I’ve seen that the battery doesn’t get drawn down as much. Guys are running big graphs and all kinds of accessories, and that added battery life matters,” he said. “That is big on the small SoCal lakes where you are not running long distances and sitting in one spot a lot longer most of the time.”
As a Mercury certified dealer, they can help you with your next re-power and carry all of the popular models, including the new ProXS four-stroke in all of the available sizes.
