An Exceptionally Clean Boat and Truck
The author spent a day on the water with Lucas Oil pro staff and FLW Tour pro Bill McDonald earlier this year and saw first hand what an exceptionally clean rig looks like.
Typically, professional anglers spend days and weeks on the road and keeping their truck and boat clean is not always the priority. But not McDonald, his boat and truck were spotless, and he credits his Lucas Oil products for keeping it that way.
He shared what products he uses and some tips to get the most out of them.
Lucas Oil Slick Mist Marine Speed Wax
As the name implies, this product is designed for boats and the marine environment. It works very well on the fiberglass of boats and even boat that have a vinyl wrap, but McDonald also likes it for his truck.
“One of the best things about it is that it removes hard water spots. If you park your truck outside and get some water from sprinklers or rain, you are going to have some water damage, and this cleans it right up,” McDonald says. “I see it all the time where you park your car at a restaurant or someplace and they have the sprinklers on, and it can just mess up your truck as that is typically not very good quality water.”
“The product is a cleaner, but it is also a UV protector. I use it on my boat, windshields and everything else. It is straightforward to use, and it is really foolproof.” McDonald adds.

Lucas Slick Mist Interior Detailer
This product was built to clean and protect the interior of your vehicles. It is as simple as spraying it down and wiping it off. Metal, plastic, vinyl, leather, and rubber can all be cleaned safely with it.
“Like all of the Lucas products, is really easy to use. Just shake it up, spray it and wipe it down,” says McDonald.
“It cleans, but it also protects. One other use I have found is for my Ranger boat trailer that has the Road Armor, it cleans it right up,” he said referring to the tough coat rubberized coating that is used on many boat trailers and truck beds.

Lucas Slick Mist Tire & Trim Shine
Keeping your tires black and shiny helps them stand out among other vehicle tires, but this product also helps to protect your tires and can prevent sidewall blowouts.
“You can just spray it and wipe it down with a rag,” he says.
Lucas Oil Slick Mist
While they have a Slick Mist Marine Speed Wax, Lucas also has a standard version to help keep your vehicle clean. This product is like all of the others in that it can be simply sprayed and wiped off. Dirt and spots on chrome, vinyl, and glass are no match, and it leaves a lasting protecting finish. It works on both wet and dry surfaces.
Slick Mist Detailing Kit
With a host of products available, Lucas decided to make a kit out of all of the products that help clean your equipment. McDonald says you can buy them separately; but buying them as a package saves some money and is more convenient.
“I keep all of the products in a bucket in the back of my truck with a few microfiber towels, so they are ready to go whenever I need to clean my boat and truck,” he says.

It’s Called Slick Mist for a Reason
The Slick Mist products are excellent at cleaning and also very slick. Lucas warns to not use it on areas where being slippery can be hazardous.
Avoid steering wheels, pedals and grips as well as seats as it could be dangerous.
