Two Campaigns to Protect Fishing & Boating Featured on Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World Radio

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Boat safety and fishing are top of list this week. Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World Radio host Rob Keck is featuring two renowned fishing conservationists John Arway, the Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission and Tim O'Neil, the marketing Director for the Fish and Wildlife Foundation of Florida. Tune in on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET on RURAL SiriusXM Channel 147 to catch this exclusive interview. Our first guest, John Arway will tell us about the "S.O.S—Save Our Susquehanna!" a campaign by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) to fund water and soil conservation projects along the Susquehanna River, where young smallmouth bass have been plagued by illness and elevated death rates. Arway also talks about the history of the PFBC and its 150th Anniversary this year as one of the country's oldest conservation agencies.

Tim O'Neil discusses the Florida Fish and Wildlife Foundations mission to partner with FWC to ensure the conservation and enhancement of Florida's fish and wildlife resources. As a citizen support group O'Neil addresses the challenges of conservation with reduced budgets and declining revenue streams. He'll talk about the payoff and the power that citizens have in supporting Florida's fish and boating by simply purchasing a Florida fishing license. Tim also shares details about the statewide "I Do" fish campaign and how Bass Pro Shops is involved with the program. Each week, Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World draws upon outdoor experts from across the country, including those within the Bass Pro Shops family. Rob Keck, Bass Pro Shops' director of conservation, and his guests provide listeners with the latest information about hunting, fishing and wildlife conservation.
