Vexus Boats | They're Here

Over the past year, a new boat company was unveiled, and since that initial announcement, it has created plenty of buzz in the bass fishing world.

Vexus is headquartered in Arkansas, in the city of Flippin. It is made up of many people who were deeply involved with Ranger Boats.

They kicked off the brand in early 2018 with aluminum models and will soon have fiberglass versions. They plan to showcase their first fiberglass boat at the 2019 Bassmaster Classic.

C&C Marine in Newscastle, Calif. is one of the first dealers in the west to carry Vexus and currently have six aluminum models in stock. The staff says that customer response has been overwhelmingly positive for Vexus.

Why Vexus?

There are many reasons why anglers are looking into Vexus, and C&C Marine Newcastle General Manager Jeremy Ransford says part of it is what they have been able to do with an aluminum boat. The boat is reported to look and ride much like a fiberglass bass boat. The affordability of aluminum with the ride and fishability of a glass boat has piqued the interest of many anglers. The innovation and quality will no doubt follow when they release their new fiberglass models.

“The boats are excellent quality, and they have some great color options to choose from. It is amazing what they were able to do with aluminum,” he says. “We already have a couple on order for customers, and the “Build Mine” section on their website is really easy to use and has all of the prices for each of the options you want.”

Currently, they have four out of the five of the current Vexus models in stock in Citrus Heights: the AVX189, AVX1880, AVX1980, and AVX2080. Ransford says that they will have all of the boats at the ISE show in Sacramento, which is January 17-20, 2019. Also worth noting is that Vexus will only be available at the Citrus Heights location.

Here are the lengths and horsepower ratings for the five aluminum models as well as information on what makes Vexus different.

Vexus Aluminum Series

  • AVX189 - 18’7” - 115HP
  • AVX1880 - 18’10” - 135HP
  • AVX1980 - 19’10” - 150HP
  • AVX2080 - 20’2” - 200HP
  • AVX1980CC - 19’10” -150HP

The Vexus website outlines a host of processes and engineering techniques that they use to make their boat different. Glass-Infused Aluminum Hybrid, Stretch Formed Gunnels, Vector Force Transom, and All Welded AVX Hulls to name a few. These are all put in place to separate the Vexus aluminum from other aluminum boats on the market.

While the current Vexus boats are definitely an aluminum bass boat, they use fiberglass in critical areas. The process they use incorporates fiberglass into the bow panel, recessed trolling motor, consoles, storage compartments, and livewells.  This helps with both quality and structural reinforcement.

Innovation is one of the keys of the new Vexus brands and that comes from years of boat building. They have centuries of combined experience building bass boats and have carried that over to the new brand.  Besides innovation, Vexus is committed to building a quality boat. This has fueled the excitement for the brand. “The quality is fantastic and is what you saw in the past for bass boats,” says Ransford.

C&C Marine in Citrus Heights Relocation

Early this year, C&C Marine Citrus Heights relocated to Newcastle. The new 6,000 square foot building is split between a showroom and large service area.

“We have been in the same location for 25-years and will be moving to a new location in Newcastle. The new shop is about 15 minutes from our current location and is right off of I-80 and close to Bass Pro Shops,” he says. Stay tuned for more information on the new site and grand opening.

Service and More Exciting News

Ransford promised some big news for 2019 and said they would have a top pro-staff member running Vexus.

They will also be adding another top bass boat brand to their lineup. He wasn’t able to disclose either of these but hinted that they would both be big announcements.

While the big news is Vexus and new showroom, C&C Marine also services all of the major outboards. “We take pride in our service, and that is what has kept us going for so long. We can handle any brand of outboard,” says Ransford. They are certified for Yamaha, Mercury, and Evinrude.

With the arrival of Vexus, a new showroom, and more announcements to come, C&C Marine in Citrus Heights has plenty of good news to share. 2019 will be an exciting year for them and bass anglers throughout the region.
