Yo-Zuri 3DR Series Popper | Up Close
The Yo-Zuri 3DR (3D Real) lineup includes several bait styles, and the finishes are all made for realistic presentations in clear water situations. The color shown is Real Glass Minnow and appears almost totally clear.
What Makes it Different?
Poppers are a tried and true style of bait, and just about every lure manufacturer has one. The differences in this bait are the addition of Yo-Zuri’s patented ribs. The Wave-Motion Ribbing was designed to stimulate the lateral line of bass.’
The 3DR Popper is available in two sizes, a 65mm, and 70mm. The 65 is 2 5/8 ounce and weighs in at ¼ ounce. The larger of the two is three-inches long and weighs 3/8-ounce which make it easier to cast with baitcasting gear. The longer 70mm also allows the bait to have a different appearance and makes it slightly easier to walk side-to-side.
Fishing the 3DR Popper 70
The bait works as advertised and getting the perfect popping action is no issue. The bait excels, though, when fished more like a walking bait. Being able to mix up your retrieve makes the popper stand out.
Gear to Use
The smaller bait weighs just a ¼-ounce so spinning gear may be your best bet. Light line will help increase your casting distance. The 70 is a bigger bait and can easily be used on standard medium baitcasting gear with up to 15 or even 17-pound test line.
