100% BASS DVL Results

Post by Brian Linehan »

I want to thank all who attended today's Ironman-like event. When the 17 die-hard teams blasted off, the rain was coming down in buckets and the Southwestern wind was stiff to say the least. With only 15 paid boats involved in the payout, 100% BASS was able to pay the winners, Manas Malikian and Kevin Linehan $2970. Second went to the team to beat at DVL, Pat Keniry and David Avina and they won $1050. Will "Wildo" Rakowitz and Frank Morrin pulled of a 3'rd and won $650. Below are all of the results and thanks again for braving the elements and fishing 100% BASS.

Place F-Name Last Name F-Name Last Name Weight Winnings
1 Manas Malikian Kevin Linehan 25.84 $2970
2 Pat Keniry David Avina 22.39 $1050
3 Will Rakowitz Frank Morrin 22.33 $650

4 Larry Cross Art Berry 20.95
5 Rick Grover Kyle Grover 20.51
6 Jay Wright Cory Dispenserio 18.63
7 John Chin Daniel Lee 16.46
8 Harry Jioras Fred Vecht 16.17
9 John Krumsiek John Curry 15.74 $150
10 David Valdivia Cory Schleiden 13.56
11 Mitch Southern Jason Akins 12.45
12 Charlie Weinkauf Rocky Asbury 11.76
13 Frankie Romeo Greg Mahoney 11.61
14 David Ibarra Jason Bettinger 10.45
15 Guy Williams Jason Chang 10.24
16 Matt Burghardt Todd Kline 3.12
17 Gary Robson Grady Garrison

Had fun watching Pat and Dave catch fish, even kyle too. I'm still looking for the banana that must be in my boat. What a day of casting and catching shorts!!

Thank you Rick for loaning your Easy-Up tent. If I had to weigh all of those fish without your cover, it would have been miserable. Thanks for all of your support Rick and Anglers Marine.

Thanks everybody! Props go out to Manas for putting us on the bite. Nearly 3K for only 15 boats is sick! Thanks to my bro, Betina, Shane, and Jim Emmit for running the event.

"Ironman" is a understatement. Only the true hardcore teams were out today. Still fun. Thanks Brian for all your work and congrats to Kevin and Manas. Rick G.

Hey Kevin shouldn't you have been at the San Diego Boat show selling motors for Rick instead of taking his money at DVL????

Rick, you were totally right when you mentioned to me in the morning that all of the hardcore studs were there yesterday.

Thanks for the support Mike and your math is right on. Every team who fished yesterday entered every option. That's unheard of and from my experience usually around 75% of the teams who fish 100% BASS enter all options. It just proves that the guys who showed up and fished yesterday are serious gamers.

Thanks for pointing this out Mike. Our paybacks are sick! Can you imagine if we had 40-50 boats?

Doug, when the fish are raised in cement lined pens at the hatchery, they are prone to rubbing their fins on the sides of the rearing pond walls. It does nothing to the health of the fish but does not look as good as a trout that has spawned in the wild. There are a few hatcheries that do not use cement runs to raise their fish. I believe Tim Alpers uses a series of small ponds and lakes to rear his fish. Thats why his fish are so prized....and the fact that his fish are genetic freaks helps a little too

Hatchery fish almost always have muted fins and tails. :( But they are still fun to catch...

Kevin and Manas

It was my pleasure to come out yesterday to donate my money and enjoy the hard rains ALL Day! Yesterday was horrible for us but I am super stoked for you guys. I was not only sick prior to going out, but I did not catch a fish. SWEEET! The main reason I posted this thread would get a bump and everyone would look at your photos again. Enjoy the fame!

Brian,
Thanks for putting on another great event and you sure do have a great wife to brave those conditions to help you run the weigh in. That guy Jim Emmett is a pretty cool guy too for helping out. Let's hope after this event and the large payback for a 15 boat field, the field will grow because like you said, can you imagine the pay backs for a 40-50 field derby.

1) Getting to DVL @ 4:30= nobody there (thinking the tourney was cancelled)=

2) Getting to the only spot I know with fish, only to find FLW Pro Art Berry already nailing 'em =

3) Getting line all tangled in the trolling motor while catching some fish =

4) Dropping the pin for the propellor into he drink and having to jimmy rig it=

5) Partner with the flu (soaked to the bone & not doing well) =

6) Ran out of batteries =

7) Being called a HARDCORE IRONMAN! = :D

Good Times!
Thanks Brian
