Some incredibly high winds (up to 75mph!) kept many away for the first few days but those winds are calming down now. At least a few lucky anglers toughed out the cold and caught some beautiful rainbow trout.
While the wind made for some challenging fishing it provided an opportunity for misty rainbows… as in the atmospheric variety.
Wildlife officers Nate Smith and Dustin Holyoak patrolled Convict Lake in Mono County on opening day checking to make sure everyone on the water was in compliance with trout fishing regulations, which the vast majority were. Did you catch some fish this weekend? Any record breakers?
