2025 Kids Fishing Day

Nothing quite says summer in Siskiyou County like the arrival of Kids Fishing Day. CDFW’s Mount Shasta Fish Hatchery will once again welcome our youngest anglers, their friends and families on Saturday June 14 and again on Saturday July 26 for 2025 Kids Fishing Day. The trout hatchery’s settling ponds will be stocked with fish for kids 15 and younger. Children need to be big enough and strong enough to manage a fishing rod and reel on their own. The events are free, staffed with volunteers with free bait provided and some loaner equipment available. Families and friends need to bring a cooler or bucket to take home the catch. Registration begins at the hatchery at 8:15 a.m. the day of each event. Fishing concludes at 2 p.m.
