Yes that's correct, this snag proof open cost me $855.00 so far.

It begins with the entry fee, I pony up for Flake and me for the pro side. Now there's gas and with the running around we did for pre fish and the tournament comes to about $300. So, after day 1 with our 5.something limit we decide to meet at 5 at Russos. Of course I have to feed the Roush too. Sunday morning I load Flakes boat and check in and off we go. Now Flake has an older Ranger 519 with a 200 merc on the rear. I think its an Optimax. It's in sad shape, but its a fishing platform. Anyway we get into a trist after he almost runs over the check in guy with hi trailer while the guy is still tying the ribbon on the trolling motor. So he's pissed and I'm pissed and this is not the way to start a tournament. I give him a C note and tell him to drop me at Russos. We settle our differences and decide to still fish. Not a good idea. Off we go on a long run. Arriving at our first spot, my banana seat and pole are missing. Apparently when the two boats passed us in holland within a few feet of us, the wake popped the seat out of the hole and plop. That's another close to 400.00 for a new seat and pole. The black insert has been coming out of the post hole for awhile, but I never thought it would take the hole seat. So at the end of the day, the cloud follows me around like a plague.
Oh well its better to have bad luck and enjoy fishing then to have good luck and no fish. (I think

)
Anyway I dumped our first fish which I estimate was a 4 lbr, Flake dumps a few, and we end up with 1 tiny fish to weigh in. Execution is a key, and I failed that too.
I'm now licking my wounds and prepping for WWN.
