21.92lbs Dominates Pasote & Berryessa Bass Tournaments
It was a Beautiful Fall day on Lake Berryessa! Thanks to the 30 Teams that fished the opening event of the Pasote Tequila & Berryessa Bass Tournaments Circuit that was on October 20, 2019 and hosted out of Markley Cove. There was a slight breeze, but it was a perfect Fall day! Hot Chili was all gone before Greg Bunting weighed-in! Sorry Greg, Doing a double batch for you next tournament. The lake is fishing well for numbers, and most of the field found limits. Most teams reported catching their fish in 5 – 40 feet. Thanks to all teams for obeying the 5mph after Pope Creek Bridge and in Putah Creek! No complaints from DFG! Water temps are down into the high 60’s range with the water clarity slightly murky green from winds. Top weights were a little low overall, but there was a team that weighed a nice sack of largemouth. Teams reported catching their fish on Spoons, Jigs, Topwater, Dropshot, and Reaction. Most teams were fishing all over Main Body of the lake, and Putah Creek. First Place went to Mike Nichelini and John Pearl with a good sack and a great kicker! Their sack weighed 21.92lbs and was anchored with an 8.21lb kicker for 1st Place Big Fish. Second Place went to Robert Ennes and Kristi Kennard who brought in a sack that weighed 16.03lbs and a 4.72lb kicker for 2nd Place Big Fish. Third Place went to Mark Mariani and Luke Lipanovich with a sack that weighed 15.32lbs. With a Fourth Place finish, Dave Symmons fishing solo weighed in 13.27lbs. In Fifth Place, Jody Jordan also fishing solo came in with a sack weighing 12.96lbs. Erik Kennedy also fishing solo weighed in a 12.80lb sack for Sixth Place. In Seventh Place was Bob Dettling and Jason Kincannon with 11.74lbs. Next tournament Sunday 11/10/19! Nice to see both anglers hold their big bass with both hands. They will thank you for that (somehow!)
