Another Minn Kota question
Recently purchased a Minn Kota Terrova 80 without the universal sonar adapter and find myself in a quandary over just how to run the transducer cable along the shaft. On this particular model, the shaft slides through a collar during deployment and retrieval, preventing the transducer cable from being attached directly to the shaft as one might do on a MotorGuide type set-up. There IS a channel running the length of the shaft which might allow running the cable through the collar if I remove the control head and slide the shaft and motor out first.....anyone have any experience on this particular set-up?

Re: Another Minn Kota question
I just put a Fish finder on my power drive. I used this picture as a reference. (this picture is from Rob Belloni's boat on calfishing.com)

I got my transducer mounted with no problem using this picture as my guide.

My dad and I did what Sacto John did. If you look in your owner's manual, it should tell you what to do.
Good luck!

Re: Another Minn Kota question
Yeah, that's the configuration I used initially, as depicted in the accompanying manual. I just didn't like the way the cable hung loose along the shaft when the motor was deployed. Only used it once since I installed it, but I noticed that the cable was getting moved around quite a bit when I encountered any kind of vegetation at all. It may cause no problem at all. Then again, I had to put my old MotorGuide in some tight spots where a loose cable may have gotten snagged....I'm gonna try a little something and I'll submit a pic if it works. Thanks for the input guys!
