Im not sure if there are some directed towards them but there are a few where Im sure a father son team would be welcome.

One is the A/C WRL. The entry fee is affordable, its a good time, and they have a raffle at the end of each tournament! Give Randy a call, Im not sure on the age limit, but Im fairly confident your son would be able to fish.

Another popular one is the Future Pro Tour. Same as above, its affordable and Im pretty sure they have a raffle at the end of each tourney.

And one that is REALLY directed all to fun, no money on the line at all and is just a BLAST is the Western Bass Rally held anually, usually around June or July on Clear Lake. Its a family event thats 2 days long with 3 weigh ins! Again this is directed to alll about fun!

I fished the opening future pro tournament at Berryessa, I think if you really want your son to have a memoriable time you might try them out....It will be crowded, and there are a lot of really good fisherman that fish it. But what impressed me was that every kid that fished was called up and presented a trophy, there was this 5 year old kid fishing and he was just so happy to get a trophy and the Tournament Director talks to each kid and asks them how they caught fish like they were the winners... All the kids were smiling like they had just won the Bassmasters Classic.... :)

American Bass Assoc. at DVL and all other regions have a Father/Son Award. www.americanbass.com for more schedules. I fish with my 7 year old at times and they love that award. Rick G.
