Any Big ones From Casitas?
Anyone catching any big fish from Casitas? When was the last Teener caught up there?

Re: Any Big ones From Casitas?
the last teener that I know of that has been caught in the lake was a low 13lber by one of Rod Thigpins clients on the Stocker trout.
Teeners are nearly gone at Casitas these days. There weren't even 10 total caught last year plus this year.

Man that's a bummer. I hope they can turn that lake around.
Chief you got an 8.8 on a swimbait? That's awesome! Was it a long skinny fish?
Let's see the picture!
Good job!

Re: Any Big ones From Casitas?
Jr., Casitas is in good condition and the bass are healthy. Like all SoCal trophy bass lakes, you will not hear about giant bass unless the fish is extraordinary size or the angler is into self promotion.
You may hear reports of more 10 to 12lb bass when the shad are available for the bait fisherman.
It has been a cold spring and late spawn for most of the trophy bass lakes, so wait to see if any more teener's hit the press.

Thanks, she was hungry and just slammed the bait. Had another after I let that one go. Slap at the bait.
It was fun to watch.

Re: Any Big ones From Casitas?
Casistas is no where near what it was. Not as many fish and not as many good ones. ( fish over four we will say for this purpose) I am not fisheries bioligist but i have i have fished this lake for alot of years and i think it is in a down swing. I think it easier to catch small fish there now than it used to be so maybe thats a sing of things to come.
Seems to me like this lack of big fish thing is all over though, not just Casitas. The bags and big fish are down every where. Delta, Clear Lake, Casitas, Cachuma, and other places. with a few exceptions of course like Perris.
