Shawn ,Chev has had one "on the books" for 07 not 08...for awhile now . Damn thing shows nearly the same options as the regular silverados. Ext Cab,2wd/4wd.etc..etc....Although what I have here is several months old and updated every month ,I have no idea if they are being sold yet..At the beginning of the year they were not...but who knows now... I havent had one in the shop (autobody shop) yet to gawk at...Charlie

Yeah there are some models coming out that are (Dual Mode) technology. I guess when you are in traffic or about 25MPH, it uses only electric, when you need power it uses Gas and you have just as much power as before saving you about 25% in gas. That being said, i went to 2 dealers today including Chevy and they knew NOTHING about it, its all over the internets though for (08).........I want it now though!!!!!!!

I wonder what marketing genius planned this? Its funny..Chev sent specs to Mitchell (my parts etc,etc info) long ago..we get programs info ,costs ,etc...and poof* nothing . Looking again...its set up as an 07 which would have been availible in late 06 usually....now...they will spend $ to start all over again due to some changes which are normal. Looks like you will be in the market for next year now,,which means you will be the first in 08 to have a new 09 chev! congrats! on your new purchase....lol...damn...this almost like making plans for a new front yard and a big pool-on a vacant lot without a house! I just got a flyer from GMC about the "08 Yukon Hybrid. It has the 8 cyls when needed, 4 cyl when not and a self generating electric motor (no need to plug it in to recharge) for braking and stopped situations. The transitions from 8 cyl to 4cyl and either of those modes to electric is supposed to be seamless.

The big claim to fame is the ability to use the 5.3 litre motor for your towing needs. And the fuel savings 4 cyl / electric capabilities when not towing. wouldn't expect much fuel savings when in the towing mode.

I bought an '06 flex fuel Yukon a year ago. When I was looking on the lot, I saw a Silverado that had a "Hybrid" badge on it.
