Just wanted to add that I am not trying to make a case for myself being a better angler than tourney guys at all, in case anyone takes my posts that way. I have a lot to learn and I'm sure the vast majority of tourney guys are better anglers than myself.

For the Record .... BrothA G only wears a FishHeadz helmet when on Brotha Philz Yeller Banana Boat.

He may not wear anyhting else..... but he does look sexy with that face mask on.
You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.

Not that they would let me in, but I am joining TEAM DEAD MONEY on this issue. At our store we have as employee's all levels of anglers and trust me in saying that Little Joe U. is going to whip anyone of the other guys either at El Dorado Park or Lake Mead. Tournament experience is second to none IMHO. All about fast decisions. Rick G.

All I know is if you love to fish your a better Man than most.

Yes tournament fisherman as a whole are better at catching fish I think. But if the question is are we as good as the Elite guy's no way...........weekend warrior's........maybe.

But on the flip side I hear people say there on the water 200 day's a year.Seem's a little exagerated to me but you better be able to catch more than me

I know, I thought it was funny.

But in here, some guys probably believe stuff like that, or that they are better than tourny fishermen (no names )  :D

Agree that most of this thread has degraded into BS, with a few good imputs from knowledgeable fisherman.
The late Bill Murphy was considered to be one of the better bass fisherman around. Bill fished club tournaments back in the 70's and then became a trophy bass fisherman. I Know Bill could hold his own in a tournament, however may have prefered to fish at his own pace.
I don't believe the tournament bass fisherman are any better today than they where in the 70's, just better equipment to fish with and more knowledgeable in regards to bass locations.
See you on the water and have a successful new year.

PS; Scanned the photo of the 18 lb 11 oz Casitas bass and e mailed to be posted for those "If you caught it" folks on this forum.

I said it once and I will say it again.
Get on the back of the boat with some of the real pro's and tell me who is better.
This is such a stupid thing.
Some guys on here really think they are better than the Reese's, Dobyns,KVD'S, Biffle's. Please you are mistaken.
If you think all that happens is everywhere they go people call them you are mistaken.
These guys all put in there time way more than you all think.
There are cut off's and the like for all of them but they all get on the water or learn about it big time.
They just make it look easy.
Most of you really are mistaken when you say there are guys out there as good as them.
I have fished 3 tour events with the big guns and man they are mind blowing in what they can do. Until you have done that or even spent a day fishing with some of them like I have you have not really seen the Pro in Pro.

I really don't think this topic was meant for a comparison between the local tournament guys, the recreational fisherman, and the tourning pro's. The pros are in a whole different league, and we all know that. I think we all know how much time on the water, and mad angling skills it takes to be a touring pro on the national circut.
