a long time ago, i DID NOT walk along the Crystal Springs Trail at night and throw a senko into Crystal Springs.. there is a trailhead at the intersection crystal springs and skyline.

There is Emerald Lake in Redwood City, but that's surrounded my private property. There is an access road to it form the public street, but you'd have to be braver than me to tresspass there..

if he is totally desparate, he can talk a quick hike to Waterdog Pond in belmont. Small, starving bass in there. I've caught then with a popper and yes, earthworms!

I have caught 3# bass in Lake Merced. But shoreline access is a problem there now.

Best bet is to go across the SM bridge to Chabot - there are huge bass there and good numbers. Great time of the year to go too..

(edited cause i finally figured out how to create maplinks from google)

No Largemouth fisheries anywhere nearby unless you wanna sneak into Crystal Springs....lol. Waterdog Lake in Belmont just off Alameda De Las Pulgas has some Bass and Panfish in it, but the few I've seen in there were washed up dead. You might be able to get something there though, I last fished it about 15 years ago and didnt really have a clue what I was doing. Theres a couple lakes in the Redwood City hills that are full of big Bass, but they are surrounded by houses and private. I used to have special access to one of them and kickboated it alot.....average fish was like 2-4lbs, it was great.

He went and tried Chabot but didn't get a bite. Is the swimbait the way to go there? I've fished it as well and got skunked.

Thanks for the replies
