Bassing for Abused Kids Tournament is ON!

Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of Rick and Cindy Grover at Anglers Marine, the 13th annual Bassing for Abused Kids Charity Team Bass Tournament will be held as originally scheduled on Saturday, May 7, 2005 at Castaic Lake. Although this year’s event will be significantly scaled down from those in the past, it will still help raise much needed funds for Royal Family Kids Camps, the nation’s leading network of camps for abused, neglected, and abandoned children.

The annual Bassing for Abused Kids (BFAK) Charity Team Bass Tournament has long been one of Southern California’s most popular charity bass tournaments and has not missed a single year since its inaugural event at Lake Piru in 1993. The event remained at Lake Piru for three years before moving to Castaic Lake in 1996, where it has been held ever since. A series of unfortunate personal setbacks among several members of the board of directors forced the cancellation of this year’s tournament. When word of the cancellation reached Rick and Cindy Grover, owners of Anglers Marine in Anaheim and long time supporters of the annual event, they immediately stepped up to the plate and offered the necessary support to resurrect this year’s event. “Those people (at Bassing for Abused Kids) have always been great,â€
