Bayard Wins on Lower Otay - SCKA 2/27/21
The bite proved to be tougher than expected with only 17 anglers submitting a 5 fish limit. Fish were reported to be in the 15 to 20-foot range with the tule lines producing a more consistent bite. Dropshot and the Neko Rig were the primary patterns.
Johnny Bayard of San Marcos, CA secured the winning limit of 86.75 inches anchored by a solid 18.75-inch bass. Big Fish of the tournament was a 19 incher caught by Michael Hsu of Culver City, CA.

Up next for SCKA is their regular season opener on San Vincente Reservoir on Saturday, 3/13/21. This will be their first West Coast Championship qualifier event. Per SCKA veteran, Steve Buechner, the fish should be up if the warming trend continues that could make for a great bite.
