BBT Clear Lake Standings

Post by ash »

I cant believe there is no chatter or mention of the BBT March 22nd Clear Lake tournament. It took over 30lbs to make the top 5  There were TWO 10 lbrs caught but the winner Alec Pitts and Christian Burns had a BF of 10.65 for a total of 37.11 lbs !!! https://www.bestbasstournaments.com/Eve ... ?e=522&r=1

BBT is going out of Big Break this weekend on the Delta maybe its your turn to catch a 10?

Sweet - still the lack of chatter and interest is odd. I would think that is a big story or there would be some excitement around the big bags coming out of Clear Lake

So what you are saying is that if you use all of the tools allowed you can Win. The LV is a great bite, so is throwing swimbaits and flippin the cover - lots of ways to catch the bigguns out on Clear Lake.

I think he’s just saying it’s hard to get excited about somebody scoping a big bag. And I agree. Great bag though.

Just curious... why is it "not as exciting" when someone scopes a big bag... theoretically, if everyone could scope a 37 pound bag .... wouldn't they?

If I catch a 37# bag in a private pond nobody is going to give a sheet about that. Same thing goes for the scopers.........nobody gives a sheet because they didn't catch them in a sporting manner. Same type a deal when some less of a man goes on a safari hunt and pumps a bullet into a lion that has to be forced out of a cage because it scared shitless.
Now I might be impressed with a 45+# bag out of Clearlake but there will still be an asterisk by it if they scoped them.

No. Not everyone would start scoping to catch a big bag. Many would and do. But some choose to go without it even knowing it puts them at a disadvantage much of the time.

lots of guys are scoping and not bringing down 37# bags. You still have to understand fish behavior to trigger the strike and distance in casting. I agree its a different game, and not one that i am fond of but as they say fish your strengths, if its still dragging a split shot using your flasher as your hi-tech device cool - if its scoping with precision casts same deal

if you look at the full standings you will see the obvious fact that only 10% of anglers catch 90% of the fish! the overall bite at Clear Lake sucks right now!
