Best Cell Phone Service Reception on Berryessa????

Post by eddybilt »

I'm fishing the Future Pro Tour Tournamnet next month and am expecting a very important call while I'm at Berryessa. Changing phone service in about a week. So I'm looking for the best phone service for all the major northern cal lakes.
Thanks Ed

they all work, ALL Major Wireless. Problem is, is that if your in the Narrows (Among the Canyons including standing at Markley Cove) NONE WORK. The only area of the lake that I seem to receive calls is Im in the Middle of the main lake or up in the Northend.

The Canyons block the signals

Im with Circular, I take all my calls or dial all my calls once Im near Winters (Flat Area).

Thats about all I can say.

I have T-Mobile and it is terrible up there. Don't go with T-Mobile. I have been most impressed with Cingular. I fished with a friend that has it and he was able to take many calls in the main lake area last weekend.

I'm up there quite a bit and cingular has never given me much of a problem other than what Rich was talking about. There are a few spots that no phone will work.

Thanks for all the input gang. I currently have AT&T/Cingular and since the merger the service has gone way down. I'm just about sold on Verison. Thanks again for all the input....Tight lines

I have Verizonwireless with a Motorola phone. You CAN'T hear me now anywhere near Markeley Cove all the way out of the narrows. Signal picks up somewhere between Little lsland and Putah, but is spotty. I've heard Motorolas have poor reception, so you might want to research the phone too.

Thanks Vernonn I was actually looking at the motorola 325...I think I'll do a little more research. Have had spotty reception on main body up to pope....none at spanish flats which is where I'm gonna really need it. It would also be nice to have reception at shasta and clearlake.....maybe in time...

OK, I'll ask

you know your getting an importat call a month from now?

I would agree with folks about T-Mobile.....not good up there. Like the service around town or in Larger cities, but at the lakes, it can drive you crazy!

thought about text'in, anywhere North of Big Island main Lake area your phone should receive it. Don't have to verbally say anything to anyone, and the Text can be save in print for verification(sp).

Just a thought!!!!

Textin too high tech for me....I just use the phone for emergencies ......anyway attorney's, judge and the anchor will be on the party line for the call. Which shouldn't take no more than 5 mins....I hope.........then I can get back to more important things...like tryin to locate the big ones...
Thanks for the suggestion....
