Just picked up a clean 361 ranger It’s a 91 with a 91 150 black max. Has a five bladed prop. Don’t really care for it. Any suggestions on a better props
Thanks john

Re: Best prop
a Mercury Fury 3 22 pitch would be my first recommendation followed by a Mercury Tempest 23 pitch. For years the standard prop for a 150 was the Tempest 23 but since I see the Fury 3 is now offered in the 22p size I'd go that route. The Fury is a lighter, stiffer metal with a smaller hub diameter so most boats will have a better hole shot and still have good top end speed. The Tempest tends to perform better on heavily loaded boats but gives up a bit on hole shot and will be a tad slower top end with lighter weight boats such as your 361. These are general guidelines, some boats don't follow the rules and prefer the opposite. Most Merc dealers will have demo props for you to try so you can be sure
Due to the design / length of the blades, always go down one pitch size with the Fury to get comparable RPM at WOT as the Tempest

Re: Best prop
Thank you much. I’ll look into it. John
