Boat Thieves with descriptions around San Diego
Boat Thieves with descriptions around San Diego
Ok, with all the other boats being stolen I wanted to share what happened to me 2 weeks ago. I have a description of one of the guys, and the 2 vehicles they use.
I had just pulled my boat out front to get ready leave around 4 am. I went around back to close the gate where I keep the boat, and when I walked back around the front of my house, a small, older model silver honda civic hatchback had turned around and was stopped beside my boat looking at it. When he saw me walk around the corner he hauled ***. He was white, with reddish blonde scruffy hair and a goatee. He looked like trailer park trash, which I can say because I was raised in a trailer.
2 days later around 2:30 in the afternoon, a neighbor lady called my wife at work to tell her that a Maroon F-150 Extended cab pickup had just stopped along the side of my house. The passenger in that vehicle, who she described much like the guy I saw in the civic, had gotten out of the truck and climbed through my shrubs and was looking over my privacy fence where I keep my boat parked. My neighbor did not go outside and get a license plate number on that truck, which killed me. My wife called me, and I called the cops and they were at my house in about 10 minutes. I got home about 10 minutes later and all was ok, but It freaks me out now because they know my boat is back there, and boat theft is hot right now.
I am going to buy an alarm system and install it on my boat this weekend to give me some piece if mind.
So be on the lookout for these 2 vehicles in the vicinity of a boat parked somewhere, these may be the same guys who have stolen all 4 of these bass boats recently. If I see them in my yard, they will die of lead poisoning. If I see them close to my property they will live, but they will eat there meals through a straw for a very long time.x(

Darn Dustin, I wish they got that license plate too. Hope you do catch them in the act.

type in Trailer keeper on your search engine...$300 bucks is cheaper than an alarm system.....by yourself a boot ...like the cops use by locking it on a rim it totally advertises the fact that without some serious effort and time the boats going nowhere. It's a totally effective way to keep the boat where it is...Now keeping them out of the lockers is another matter....I always wanted to have one of those IR cameras that they sell to deer hunters for watching game trails

LoJack is a really good tool for recovering stolen items. The only downside is that it typically doesn't stop theft, it only gets your property back quicker. Typically within 24 hours......(If it doesn't go into Mexico
)
I would recommend a theft preventer I.E..Alarm or the boot thing Ripa was talking about & the LoJack.
